ABOUT ME

I'm currently VP, Experience Design at Deutsch (the agency). I run the Experience Design practice in the NYC office and work across all of the brands to create best in class work for large-scale, global brands. My goal is to promote critical thinking in designing the experiences that set behavioral and cultural patterns by consideration toward the simple interactions and interfaces (whether screen-based, voice or otherwise) that either reflect our current beliefs and systems or those that set out to further define what those may be. I thoroughly enjoy creating methodologies and moments that empower, motivate and inspire positivity in the world.

Over the past 15+ years, I have worked in the field of design; the past 10 of which were geared specifically toward experience design. At Wieden + Kennedy, I worked diligently to promote awareness of the practice of experience design within an integrated agency setting, taking it from a mere add-on or extension to one of the core components in the overall deliverable. I built and managed a UX team, as well as co-managed a multi-disciplinary team made up of Creative Tech, Design and UX.

I began my career in experience design through various mobile-based start-ups. I also have several years experience working in both large and small agencies. Among them was R/GA, where I spent almost 3 years as an interaction designer on brands such as Nike Running/Nike+. I was also focused on mobile and new business, creating winning pitches for clients such as Hewlett Packard. I designed the interface and overall user experience for Johnson & Johnson's Baby.com Mobile Birth Announcements - the first of its kind - which won the mobile James E. Burke Award.

I have spoken at conferences and other events on the topic of quantified health and emerging platforms, including SXSW Interactive, Microsoft Design Expo, Mobilefest Brazil and the R/GA Interaction Design Offsite. My work in data tracking and wearable devices has been showcased both in the US and internationally, on television, galleries, blogs and newspaper articles, including SBT News Channel, Atualíssima, Engadget, Wired and Popgadget. I also taught a graduate-level multimedia class at Manhattanville College for several semesters and lectured at both Cooper Union and the School of Art + Design at Purchase College, SUNY.
